Friday thoughts in July…
I look serious in this pic don’t I?

Well, life can be serious can’t it?
But it can be silly at the same time.
I’ve always found life to be a mix of things.
When life is rough, it’s still good.
And when life is good it can still be rough.
Days can be up and down, good and bad, fun and boring, jolly and sad…
That’s life.
It’s not black-and-white.
So here I am in this picture… it was a couple days ago. I was visiting my sister at the new salon she works at called Oxana in Nashville located at 1100 8th Avenue South. It’s a really hip, artsy, classy salon. My sister gave me a cute, much needed haircut.
That day, my mom had been in town for two weeks and we needed to get her to the airport that morning. She came to town for my birthday and for Independence Day and to hang out with the grandkids and her kids too (us).
So, that morning, I took her to the airport and I’d wanted to walk her in to make sure that she didn’t have to lug her heavy bags herself, but we couldn’t find parking where we wanted to so I wound up taking her to the drop off and taking my chances by putting on my emergency lights and literally run-walking inside while she was trying to catch up with me… we were still about an hour and a half early so it wasn’t too bad, but I was feelin’ a little stressed. And it’s funny looking back I thought why did I think that it would make sense for me to walk faster than my mom when she could only walk as fast as she could walk and I had to stay with her. It’s not like I could leave her behind or go without her, lol.
I hadn’t slept much the night before so I was not handling “stress” as smoothly. Lately I’ve been sleeping really really well, but I still have some nights where I don’t sleep well at all, and that was one of them.
In any case, I got her to security and the guard helped her get the luggage onto the luggage belt. Then I had to run to make it on time to the salon to see my sister so she could cut my hair.
And immediately after that, I was to be in downtown Franklin for Landmark Booksellers 20 year anniversary gathering. I met one of my dearest gym-going friends there. We stopped at the restaurant across the street first but Landmark had a whole set up of hors d’oeuvres, & gorgeous, delicious desserts.
Yesterday was recovery day. I got some much-needed rest and thinking time. At the end of the day I got my nails done before visiting a new favorite restaurant in town called Flower Child.
Went to bed at 8:30pm last night, woke at 4:30am this morning, getting a solid 7-8 hours of deep sleep. Today has been fantastic so far.
Journaled for 2 hours, drank my 4 glasses of salty water, coffee, showered and hit the gym. Set the massage room up so it’d be ready for a full day of clients…
Now on my way to see my first client.
How has your week gone? How’s your Friday going?
Need a massage? The schedule is up until beginning of August. Book it!!
